Original k. & k. Lehár Orchestra

kuk-vienna copyAt the advice of Franz Lehár himself, his prominent personal assistant and friend, Prof. Eduard Macku (1901 - 1999) founded the "FRANZ LEHÁR ORCHESTRA" in 1945, which then became the orchestra in residence at the LEHÁR OPERETTA FESTIVAL in Bad Ischl, established by Prof. Eduard Macku. This legendary orchestra partly consisted of musicians, who even had played under Franz Lehár himself.
Under Prof. Macku´s instructions, the musicians of the Franz Lehár Orchestra learned the authentic interpretation of Lehár´s style from                                                           first hand.
leharMany generations of musicians began their careers in that original orchestra. Some of them became members of the famous Viennese orchestras like the Vienna State Opera / Philharmonic. The "original k & k VIENNA LEHÁR ORCHESTRA" mostly consists of these artists and therefore the orchestra is able to play with a unique special experience, which they once could learn from their great mentor Prof. Eduard Macku.

The name of their Viennese orchestra means an obligation for their members, as their aim it is to obtain the good old traditions and to present Franz Lehár's master pieces in the original performing practice.
